The Chicago Parent Program (CPP) is a 12-session, video and group-based parenting skills training program that has been shown to improve parenting skills and confidence and reduce behavior problems in young children 2-5 years old. It provides professionals serving families with young children the knowledge, skills, and materials needed to implement the CPP in their agency or practice. This training will use the Chicago Parent Program 3rd edition.
Designed in collaboration with parents of young children and supported by research, the program was created to address the needs of families from culturally and economically diverse backgrounds. The program listed on the California Evidence-based Clearinghouse for Child Welfare and the National Registry of Evidenced-based Programs and Practices and can be used as part of a comprehensive prevention or treatment program for helping parents of young children with or at risk for developing serious behavior problems.

What They're Saying
"The CPP has been an extremely useful adjunct to my work with preschoolers and their families. It is very user-friendly, well received by parents and caregivers, and it gets great results!” —Joyce Harrison, MD, Child Psychiatrist, Kennedy-Krieger Institute and Johns Hopkins University
“Before [my son] was very aggressive, with everybody and with me… Like he would throw all the toys, make a big mess. You know he wasn’t respecting me… now he’s working and everything…he tells me he loves me a lot… and he’s sleeping by himself…And the teachers say he’s doing better.” — Parent
